Historic buildings to receive revamp

NEWS Provan Hall

Provan Hall, Glasgow - £165,000

Historic buildings across Scotland will be revamped thanks to £2.6 million in new funding.

Ten sites will be given building repair grants from Historic Scotland, announced Fiona Hyslop, Culture Secretary.

The largest sum of £500,000 is awarded to St Martin's Church, Castlemilk, Glasgow, to convert the former church to a mountain biking and activity centre, but what may interest members the most is that a grant of £165,000 has been awarded the A-listed Provan Hall (pictured above) in Glasgow.

Other awards are £35,000 to Cousland Smiddy in Mid-lothian and £400,000 to Avenue Bridge at Dumfries House.
