This is a real find - a real treasure! Carnock House was a mid 16th century elongated tower house with two stair turrets on the entrance side.

Carnwath Motte (Lanark) - Past & Present

Carnwath Church was built by William de Somerville before 1165 on which date he gifted it to Glasgow.

Hatton Castle (Angus) - Past & Present

Built in 1575 on the Z-plan, Hatton comprises an oblong block with a square tower at each of the NE and SW angles; there is a circular turret in the re-entrant angle of the NE tower.

Boghall Castle, Lanarkshire 1870 (it collapsed shortly afterwards) and now. The ruins were conserved after the collapse - a little too late ...
