A mid 16th century L-plan tower located near Turiff in Aberdeenshire. In 1792 the building lost its upper two storeys much to the detriment of its appearance.
Towie-Barclay was purchased in the 1970s by Marc Ellington who took seven years over its restoration. This won a Saltire Award in 1973.
The result is remarkable.
