Groves-Raines - Architects

Groves-Raines Architects are an award-winning architectural practice. The practice enjoys a considerable reputation in conservation and reuse of existing buildings, whilst producing imaginative and acclaimed state-of-the-art contemporary design work. The former often requiring a "hands-on" approach involving a close working relationship with the client and craftsmen on site to ensure that the finished job meets exacting standards, notably in the several Listed buildings restored by the directors themselves, including three A-Listed Scottish castles.

The practice strives to achieve a balance between the best of conservation and a commitment to design excellence, whilst retaining a respect for both historical context and future sustainability. Context can provide the necessary framework for the resolution of complex design problems and, in turn, informs the choice of materials: traditional or innovative, depending on the appropriate solution.
